Good Afternoon,
McHenry County is currently under a declared disaster for the record flooding that we are seeing in communities along the Fox River. We wanted to share information related to volunteering with our local Faith Based Organizations. We would like to encourage you to please direct those within your organizations or congregations who are interested in assisting those affected by flooding to sign up at the following link: https://volunteercentermchenrycounty.galaxydigital.com/need/detail/?need_id=276213
McHenry County Emergency Management is working with The McHenry County Volunteer Center and Team Rubicon to respond to those who have been affected by flooding.
Team Rubicon is a non-profit organization made up of veterans and first responders. More info on them can be found here: https://teamrubiconusa.org/
Volunteers who sign up will be working with Team Rubicon and be carrying out activities such as:
– Muck Out / Clean-up of flooded homes
– Debris Pick-up
Requirements to volunteer would be
– Must be 18 years old
– Have the physical abilities to bend, twist, crawl, carry heavy objects, etc.
– Be able to fulfill attire requirements
Those interested should sign up at the McHenry County Volunteer Center website.
