Have you thought about contributing a gift to a client of Home of the Sparrow?   Home of the Sparrow offers housing and support to women and children who are homeless.   Besides offering shelter, Home of the Sparrow staff counsels women to enable them to move from being homeless to being self-sufficient.  The CUMC Mission team is  waiting for the wish list for three Homes of the Sparrow clients: two single women and one woman with children.  Once we have their wish lists, we will have a Giving Tree with “gift tags” in the church lobby.   When you see the Giving Tree, please partner with one or more friends and select one of the gift tags.   The gifts need to be unwrapped and turned in by December 10.  Home of the Sparrow can accommodate over 100 homeless individuals with its various McHenry County sites.
If you are short on funds, you can also support Home of the Sparrow by shopping at their resale shop.  It is located at 781 South Randall Road, Algonquin, but cannot be accessed from Randall Road.  You need to approach it by traveling east on Harnish, and it shares a building with Algonquin Smiles Dentist.
