people-helping-peopleThe Incredible Imagine No Malaria Bake Sale—September 25.   Yes, we are enticing you to bake, and yes we want you to buy our delicious treats.   We also want you to realize that our ultimate goal is helping people prevent, treat and eliminate malaria.   United Methodists have made tremendous strides, and the death rate has really diminished, but we’re not quite there.  We are close to “making malaria history”, but we need more dollars.   Christ United Methodist Church joined other Methodists and pledged to raise money over a four-year period.   This church set a goal of saving 75 lives.   Estimates indicate that with proper education, community health clinics with trained workers, radio messages and insecticide-treated nets, it is possible to save one life for $100.   This church set a goal of $7,500 over a four-year period.  Most of us probably have spent $25.00 each year on something we didn’t need, didn’t like, or fell apart after a couple of washings.  So, think about what amount you can contribute to help other people.    We are enticing you to give by having a bake sale.  We are going to have individual servings of some foods as well as family-size servings.   There will be recommended prices, but if you wish to pay more than our suggested price, or if you would rather donate money for dietary reasons, we welcome your generosity.    If you are going to be out-of-town on the day of the sale and would like to place an order, please click here.   If you wish to make a monetary donation, please make the check payable to Christ United Methodist Church and write “Imagine No Malaria” on the check’s memo line
