Thank you for your prayers and the warm cards many of you sent congratulating me on being commissioned at Annual Conference last month. It’s hard to believe I graduated from seminary a year ago and just completed my first year of full-time ministry.
The commissioning service was both exciting and bittersweet. Exciting because it’s a big step toward ordination; sad in a way because my membership officially transferred from Christ Church, which I joined in 1993. As clergy, I am now a member of the Northern Illinois Annual Conference.
A part of my heart will always remain with Christ Church. You are the family who nurtured me in my faith, and I am truly grateful that my job includes continuing that legacy in the churches I serve as a pastor.
Mark and Lena and I have adjusted well to small town life. Lena just completed her freshman year of high school and Mark continues his long commute into Chicago. We do miss some of the conveniences & little luxuries so readily available in the suburbs!
Thank you again for your support and prayers. We will continue to keep Christ Church in our prayers.
Blessings,
Carolyn Lukasick
